In sheer backless dress Sonakshi Sinha trumps Kangana, Tanisha, Kajol

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is the new darling of the fashion world in Mumbai.

Sonakshi Sinha has had a good run on the red carpet at this season's awards function and looks like she will also be a constant feature in the upcoming fashion week calendar.

‘A Summer Affair’, an aptly titled soft, feminine and romantic collection by Manish Malhotra, was showcased at the opening of Lakme Fashion Week 2014, on March 11.

Opening the show was actress Sonakshi Sinha in her new found svelte stature.

Strutting down the ramp Sonakshi showcased confidence in a mid-night blue ensemble. Her style, and sensual exuberance met with standing ovation as she walked the ramp.

Looking fitter than ever Sonakshi has taken to the treadmill with a vengeance.

Now that she has achieved her goal of shedding weight, she plans to change her image by dressing in the trendiest of outfits and projecting that she is no less than any other glamorous actress in B-town.”

The future star of Bollywood was a hot topic of discussion due to her ever increasing weight. So much so, that her mentor and 'Dabangg'  co-star Salman Khan urged her to lose the extra kilos.

The curvy lady took his advice seriously and worked (really) hard.

Off late fashion critics have compared Sonakshi Sinha's stylish avatars to Bollywood fashionistas like Priyanka Chopra, Kanaga  Ranaut and Deepika Padukone.

'Queen' actress Kangana Ranaut also attened the show in a Manish Malhotra peach saree.

Though she looked as stylish as ever, Kangana lost the evening to Sonaskshi.

Kangana combined her ensemble with a sheer netted blouse with intricate embroidery and kept her make-up minimal.

The Mukherjee sisters - Kajol and Tanisha opted for a full length anarkali dress (Indian dress) and gleefully posed for the cameras.

Tanisha is looking great after her reality stint Bigg Boss and has lost considerable amount of weight. She made a pretty picture as her auburn hair cascades lusciously down her torso.

Sonakshi continues to please us and the fashion critics with her style and panache. 

Manish Malhotra's one of the favorite actresses Urmila Matondkar also attended the evening to show her support for the designer.
