Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan can now pack his bags. The Indian court has granted permission to the actor to fly to Dubai for an event slated to be held on Friday, May 29.

The actor was convicted on May 6 to five-year-sentence for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the 2002 case when his SUV killed a homeless man and injured others.

Salman got immediate bail, which was followed by the Bombay High Court suspending the actor's jail term pending appeal.

But the Court had said that the actor would require to seek prior permission each time he wishes to travel abroad.

Khan's plea to visit Dubai was filed last week.

The 49-year-old actor is committed to perform at the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards on May 29 in the emirates.

He confirmed his date with Dubai through a video message, "I'm going to be in Meydan Dubai on the 29th of May for the Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (AIBA). See you there."

Along with Salman, top Bollywood stars are scheduled to perform at AIBA, including Priyanka Chopra, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan, Parineethi Chopra, Neha Dhupia and Kanika Kapoor.

The event by Benchmark in association with Al Bustan Group, will be hosted by the filmmaker Karan Johar and TV presenter Manish Paul.
