IPL: Deepika Padukone now backs Shah Rukh

Apart from showcasing some great cricket, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also revealed a different side to Deepika Padukone.

The tactful actress, who is extremely guarded about how she is portrayed in the industry, was caught unawares.
 

Her shift in allegiance from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has unveiled how a change of hearts is responsible for it.

Not so long ago, (2011 to be precise,) a chirpy Deepika Padukone was seen cheering RCB when they trashed KKR.

That’s not all. It was at this match, when RCB won by 9 wickets, that Deepika and the team’s owner Siddarth Mallya indulged in a lip-lock at the stadium to mark the victory, and to seal their romance.

The two had safeguarded their affair up until then, but decided to make the announcement on the IPL field.

The romance, however, fizzled over the years, and today, Deepika and Sid are no longer together, and neither have found love since.

So, it’s strange that now Deepika is supporting the same team that had once prompted her to cuddle up to then beau Sid.

What’s strange is that she had even teamed up with her ‘rival’ Katrina Kaif as brand ambassadors for RCB that same year.

She and Katrina even shared the same podium during the opening ceremony of this year’s IPL, creating much buzz among the paparazzi.

In fact, at the first match of this year’s IPL, Deepika was caught cheering for Shah Rukh Khan's team, as they romped to a six-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils in Kolkata.

She was seen on the cricket pitch along with his son Aryan, daughter Suhana.

Ever since Deepika teamed up with SRK for ‘Chennai Express’, the second movie since her debut with SRK in ‘Om Shanti Om’, the lady has been going ga-ga over him.

Earlier it was his ‘Don’ co-star Priyanka Chopra who was hooked on to the superstar, creating much havoc in the Khan household.

Now, that Deepika is ‘single and ready to mingle’, we wonder if Gauri needs to be worried this time round.

Well… only time will tell.
