Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival with confidence that is hard to beat. At least by the constant media battering about how she has put on oodles of weight after giving birth to her daughter, Aaradhya.

She grabbed all media attention and the foreign journalists were quite forgiving as Ash showed off her baby flab.

As she posed on the red-carpet at the Cannes premiere of Cosmopolis, the new mother, full of confidence and style cannot help but gush about her six-month-old baby girl.

She stands tall as the most beautiful women whether at Cannes or during the Dubai World Cup. With a huge fan base in India and all over the world Ash's popularity has increased even though she no more sports that hour glass figure.

Emirates 24|7 ran a poll to find out if Ash still rules the heart. 30 per cent respondents believe that motherhood has only added to her beauty. The mommy glow on her face is evident as she sashayed the red carpet in a saree.

When the media hounded her about being a mother she gushes, "[Motherhood] is wonderful. You ask the question and I beam!” Aishwarya told reporters at the Cannes red carpet.

A nominal 15 per cent thinks Ash is not one of the world's most beautiful women. They still consider she can be the world's most beautiful mother. Probably the perfect picture of Aishwarya Rai is hard for them to shake from their memory. Watching her gain weight must be a harsh reality for the size zero fans.

Surprisingly 25 per cent respondents think this 1994 Miss World was never beautiful!

There are few who believe that Ash has lost her charm after gaining weight post-delivery.

Either way, Ash seems not bothered; she has her daughter to think about. "It’s splendid,” she added. “It’s inexplicable. The joy, the bliss, is wonderful. A smile from my daughter and that’s it! She’s good. She’s great.”

As she takes on one red carpet event after another Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has proved a point that one need not have an hour glass figure to walk with grace and confidence.
