Aamir Khan shares that ‘Dhoom-3’ has been the toughest role so far in the last 25 years of his career. He also, confesses that Salman Khan is number one star power who defies all logic whereas he needs a strong script and director for his film to work at the box office.

On stars influencing the box office collections, he adds, “To a certain degree all the stars have the strength to influence the numbers at the box office at least the first three days of the film’s release.  Beyond that we do not have the control over it. So, a lot of people attribute the success of ‘3 Idiots’ to me. It is not my film it is Raju’s and Abhijeet’s film. I do not think any film will run on the strength of the stars.”

On not being equivalent to Salman Khan in terms of star power, he shares, “Just because Salman manages everything, according to me he is the real number one who bulldozes through all logic. I do not have that capability. If the script and the story line of the film is not good enough, I will not be able to make a mark for myself. I feel when the film is good, only then the film does well. I contribute only to three days.”

Interestingly, Aamir Khan skipped even mentioning Shah Rukh Khan, who is known as the Badshah of Bollywood for his star appeal.

Talking about his role in Dhoom 3, Aamir added: “This is the most challenging role for me in the last 25 years. Luckily we did not get hurt. However, there were chances of being hurt. We often get hurt and injured even while rehearsing. It was tough and Katrina did get some bruises in her knee which was taken care of.”

Shedding light on the action sequence of the film, Aamir Khan shares, “We shot in Chicago while performing the stunts. There the road was fully blocked for us all those who were driving the cars as well as the bikes. All were trained men and a bundle of emphasis was given on the safety. Only after keeping all this in mind we perform theses stunts. I want no youth to try these stunts in real.”

Talking about successfully doing the painstaking flying stunts he adds, “A new song titled, ‘Malang Malang’ is a different song. While spinning on a strap it feels giddy. Also, when you are in a loop it is more dangerous as you may fall very easily and when you are giddy you can lose your balance and fall as loop is a very thin. Holding with your hands, hanging upside down like we had to do, we were holding our knees upside down.

And when we feel giddy, our knees open up but when we are at 40 feet high, at times we feel anything could happen. But thanks to our trainers and the precautionary measures taken, everything fell in place.”

On people’s curiosity of ‘Dhoom-3’ Aamir adds, “For us less is more! I am happy that with the promos itself that are being fed to the audiences in installments they are turning curious. Also people guessing about my equation with Katrina stating that “she plays my mom!” I feel the ignited anxiety in them and that is good.”

Lastly, ‘Dhoom 3’ releasing in the absence of Yashji Aamir says, “I respect Yashji a lot. The biggest thing I am going to miss is that Yashji will not be able to see ‘Dhoom-3’. He was the part of the planning process of the film, he knew the script and was keenly following the progress of the film. I was just telling Adi [Aditya] a few days back, the biggest regret I will have is- Yashji is not here. How happy and proud he would feel, we will miss his presence.”
