After two monster hits and launching the career of one of India’s rising stars, loyalists have only one question on their minds: when will Salman Khan return with ‘Dabangg 3’?

‘Emirates 24|7’ caught up with the film’s producer, who just happens to be the director’s wife, sister-in-law to the superstar and the movie’s lucky mascot.

"We are waiting for Salman to give us his dates," quipped Malaika Arora Khan, who was in Dubai last week for designer Mayyur Girotra’s store launch.

The actress, who has featured in special songs in the previous two installments of the film, added: “Arbaaz [husband and director] is currently juggling things to get the story and script ready; we are eagerly awaiting to start on the film ourselves.

“Maybe next year we should start shooting.”

Rumour has it the film is ear-marked for Eid 2017.

Quiz Arora Khan and she just laughed at the speculation.

“You will know when I know,” she returned.

So will the 41-year-old feature as the iconic ‘Munni’ once again to shake a leg in her trademark titillating performance?

She doesn’t deny there could be some special appearance, adding: “I have told Arbaaz not to wait too long; it all depends on when the film is shot and how I can manage to make it look good on screen.”

The actress, confessed she enjoys being in front of the camera and a behind-the-scenes producer.

“’Dabangg 3’ is a home production, so of course, I do my best to be as hands on when needed; however, I like to be behind the scenes and let the professionals do all the work.”

However, quiz her whether a director’s hat may not be further down in the pipeline, and she immediately denied it.

“That’s not for me. Arbaaz is happy doing that and I like being his support system when he needs me to be,” she added.

Dressed in sparkling couture, we put the part-time stylist to the test to ask who was the best dressed in Bollywood, and Arora Khan immediately responded: “Sonam Kapoor, definitely.”

And the most dapper?

“I think Hrithik Roshan,” she returned.

So her superstar brother-in-law doesn’t feature in the top slot?

She added: “That is so clichéd. Of course, Salman is a well dresser. But I think Hrithik has what it takes to command attention when he walks into a room.”

The actress is currently a judge on the dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’.
