Jennifer Lopez is single again - split with Casper Smart

Jennifer Lopez has split from her long-term boyfriend Casper Smart.

The 'I Luh Ya Papi' singer has reportedly called time on her two-and-a-half year relationship with the dancer-and-choreographer with the amount of time the pair were spending apart being the main reason for the break-up.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "It has actually been an amicable process that started a few months ago. It wasn't an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends ... Their relationship couldn't work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn't be all about each other any more."

J.Lo, 44, has been coping fine since ending the romance with Casper, 27, and is completely focused on promoting her upcoming album 'A.K.A.' and her live shows, which kicked-off with a free concert at Orchard Beach in The Bronx, New York, this week as part of a national music series.

The source added: "She's so focused on promoting the album. They are both in a good place now."

In recent weeks, Casper has been accused of cheating on J.Lo with bikini model Sofie Vissa, whom he met online first.

However, Casper has denied the allegations - and subsequent claims involving a second - and J.Lo reportedly believes him.

The insider said: "The scandal had nothing to do with it. He insists none of that is true and she believes him."

The former couple were first linked together in November 2011 just a few months after the singer-and-actress split from her ex-husband Marc Anthony - with whom raises six-year-old twins Max and Emme.

'Trust' issue

A source told E! News: "Jennifer did not trust him. The relationship had not been right for a while. Smart was never going to be the love of her life but he was fun and a nice guy to be around."

However, despite their break up, friends believe Jennifer, 44, only began dating Casper, 27, to help her get over her split from her ex-husband Marc Anthony, with whom she has six-year-old twins Max and Emme, in 2011.

A source explained: "Smart was a good distraction post Marc. He was good to her. He was meant to be easy and fun and when that was gone, she didn't want to be in the relationship anymore. There is no one else. They will remain friends."
