Kangana Ranaut-Sanjay Gupta fallout: Who's to blame

Looks like, Kangna Ranaut is turning into a pro at throwing “star tantrums”.

While there’s no disputing this young lady’s immense talent, she has often headlined her way for her tiffs with fellow co-stars and (now) director.

The rumour mills have been abuzz with stories of how Kangna’s absence from most promotional campaigns for ‘SAW’, in which she played the solo lead female part, had to do with her differences with the director Sanjay Gupta.

Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day suggests that the reason for this fallout was the multiple item girls Sanjay packed into the movie. Kangna reportedly was upset with Sanjay’s decision because it evidently translated into stealing her thunder.

Even during the promotional campaigns, every item girl got her due, but not Kangna.

But, some theories claims that it was Sanjay who was upset with her over the way she behaved when his good friend Sanjay Dutt’s jail news hit the stands.

She reportedly threw a big, birthday bash, which was inappropriate considering the entire Bollywood was in mourning over Sanjay Dutt’s court verdict.

It’s interesting how Gupta and Dutt, who were at one-time inseparable friends had fallen out in the past only to patch up last year at Big B’s 70th birthday bash.

According to media reports, Gupta didn’t attend Kangna’s bash because he was in “no mood to celebrate”.

When these reports emerged a miffed Gupta stepped in to clear the air and state that all’s well between the two.

Reacting to this news Sanjay Gupta told the Indian media, "Kangana is my film's heroine and there is no reason for her to be upset. She has a full-fledged role in the film. When Katrina did Chikni Chameli it didn't mean that Priyanka was upset. Likewise Kareena doing Fevicol was not reason for Sonakshi to be upset. I don't think that we should see more than what meets the eye".

Kangna, however, has refused to comment. She is currently in Bhopal for a film’s shoot.

What can we say? Guess there’s no smoke without fire.
