Katrina finds it tough to compare Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan

It's almost like every interview with Bollywood star Katrina Kaif must focus on her relationship with her 'ex-lover' Salman Khan or with her "current squeeze" Ranbir Kapoor. So, when Indian journalist Karan Thapar quizzed her at the India Today Conclave, 2015, he cornered her with an obvious question concering the two men in her life.

"I'm going to ask you an unfair question. Of the two (Ranbir and Salman) who is the more naturally, talented, gifted actor?" asked Karan.

To which, Katrina said, "I don't think, honestly, I'm anybody to be commenting on whose the better actor between Salman and Ranbir."

All she did admit to was; "they are very different", and that she "will not compare" them.

"Their approaches are very different. Their techniques are very different. Some believe in method acting, while in spontaneity.

"Some people believe in putting as much as themselves into a character, while some believe in crafting an entire character out."

She reasoned it with being 'kind' and "not hurting people's feelings". And, further illucidated with how the ratings on her acting capablities as aired on 'Koffee with Karan' had left her hurting. "I don't want to do that because I don't like it when it's done to me."

Among other topics, Karan also touched upon Katrina's controversial surname, which her first director Kaisad Gustad had claimed was chosen by him to help her fit in.

She explained that she switched from her mother's name 'Turquotte' to her father's name 'Kaif'. "It made more sense because my father's Indian, and my mother's British. Since I'm working in a country where my Indian heritage is more important I think it made more sense. Besides the fact that they are divorced."
