Katy Perry's Dubai stopover... too short

Twitter world was abuzz with Dubai-based fans of American singer Katy Perry ready to host the Grammy nominee who made a brief stopover in the emirate earlier today.

The news of her layover was confirmed by Perry herself, who sent out a tweet in the early hours of July 2, saying: “Somehow I ended up in Dubai.”

She was en route to London from Sydney, where the pop princess was promoting her documentary, “Part of Me.”

Replies to her tweet followed soon after, with fan Faisal M requesting: “Can I come entertain you please?”

Meanwhile, Ahsravi tweeted: “So now go get those gold bars from their vending machines.”

The pop diva has been travelling the world for the past month promoting the film on her life, with the latest being a red carpet premiere down under.

The documentary has opened to mixed reviews, which briefly touches on the singer’s marriage break-up with British comedian Russell Brand.
