KUWTK: Kanye West released from hospital

Rapper Kanye West was released from hospital on Wednesday, according to media outlets citing unidentified sources, more than a week after he was admitted for exhaustion.

CNN and the Los Angeles Times said West left the UCLA Medical Center. People magazine quoted an unidentified source as saying West was "home, getting some rest."

Representatives for West could not immediately be reached by Reuters for comment on West's health status or hospital release.

A spokeswoman for West's wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, said in an email there were no updates and referred queries to West's representatives.

The "Jesus Walks" rapper, 39, was taken to the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at the University of California, Los Angeles, last week after police responded to a call for help, several media outlets reported.

Sources close to the rapper told People he was exhausted from a "spiritual crisis."

West's hospitalization followed a series of public rants and the cancellation of the rest of his concert tour.

It came after a demanding couple of months for the rapper and his wife after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, forcing the family to reassess its security and public profile.

Kardashian, according to reports, has been by West's bedside during his hospitalization. Her E! Network reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," is "currently in production and has not been halted," a network representative said in a statement.

Kim Kardashian West doesn't want kids to see Kanye West

Kim Kardashian West has banned her children North and Saint from seeing their father Kanye West.

The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star has been spending several hours a day at her husband's bedside at UCLA Medical Center after he experienced a "psychotic breakdown" last week, but she is reportedly determined to keep their kids North, three, and 11-month-old Saint away from the hospital until the 39-year-old rapper is on the mend.

A source told People.com: "She (Kim) is very worried about the kids being around Kanye. The kids have not visited. Kim has been there."

However, the little ones are allowed to visit their father at Resnick Neuropsychiatric ward at UCLA, where Kanye is currently receiving treatment, providing they are accompanied by an adult.

The 'Bound 2' hitmaker was rushed to hospital over a week ago after he reportedly began hallucinating and lashed out at paramedics.

Since his admission, doctors have been keeping a constant eye on the rapper as they're worried for his mental state and his safety.

The insider said: "In the hospital he has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety. He's still there because clearly he's not doing well. Kim does spend hours with Kanye every day. She says that Kanye is on many different medications and that his doctors are figuring out proper doses. Kim says that not much has changed since he was admitted and that his doctors seem concerned."

The couple - who got married in 2014 - haven't had the easiest time over the last few months as Kim, 36, was left fearing for her life in October after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

Despite the string of bad luck they've had over the past year, the pair know that they'll come out of this stronger than ever.

The source said: "They know in the end this will bring them closer. Their love has not been affected during this hard time, but it has been tested to see if they can get through it."

Kanye sparked fears for his mental health last week when he unexpectedly cancelled his show at The Forum in Los Angeles just a few hours before he was expected to go on stage.

He has since pulled the plug on the remaining 21 dates of his 'Saint Pablo' tour following his admission to hospital.

Kanye West had 'nightmares' about Kim Kardashian

Kanye West had "nightmares" about wife Kim Kardashian West and her ordeal in Paris, France, which saw her robbed at gunpoint earlier this year before being hospitalised last week.

The 39-year-old rapper was left "shaken up" after his spouse - with who they share three-year-old daughter North and 11-month-old son Saint - was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France, earlier this year, which led him to have regular night terrors about his partner's horrific ordeal prior to being admitted to Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles, California, last week.

A source told US Weekly: "[Kanye] was having nightmares.

"He's been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris. It did a number on him as much as Kim.

"The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn't sleeping and he was having nightmares about it.

"The robbery triggered everything."

And the 'Famous' rapper - who cancelled the remaining dates of his 'Saint Pablo Tour' just before his health scare - has revealed he cut his concert short because he was concerned for his family and their welfare and didn't want to be away from his brood whilst he was performing.

The source added: "He really couldn't do his shows without her around. That's what made him worse. He didn't want to be away from her ... [The robbery] was just as hard for him, but he tried to keep going. He would never have cancelled the tour unless things were bad.

"Kim is his family and the only family he really has now. They took him in and embraced him. So seeing Kim traumatized did a major number on him."

Meanwhile, the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star has been "helping to feed" Kanye whilst he's been in hospital.

Speaking previously about the 36-year-old television personality, another source said: "Kim has been amazing. She knew he couldn't keep going the way he was. She has been by his side through all of this, helping to feed him and laying by his side."

Kim Kardashian West 'helping feed' Kanye

Kim Kardashian West has been "helping to feed" her husband Kanye West whilst he remains in hospital for exhaustion.

The 39-year-old rapper was admitted to UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles last week for treatment for exhaustion and sleep deprivation - which led him to cancel the remaining dates on his 'Saint Pablo Tour' - and the 36-year-old 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star has been helping him along the way ever since.

A source told US Weekly magazine: "Kim has been amazing. She knew he couldn't keep going the way he was. She has been by his side through all of this, helping to feed him and laying by his side."

And, although the Kim is sticking by husband, their two children - North, three, and Saint, 11 months - have no idea of their father's condition.

An insider said previously: "North and Saint [West] just think their dad is away now. Kanye wants to get better, so that's a big part in this healing process.

"Kanye is trying to get better, but he has not been released yet because he and the doctors feel he needs more time to recover.

"Kim is by his side now and will stand there till everything gets better."

Supporting the 'Famous' rapper is important for Kim, as she is keen to show him the same support he showed her when she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, France, last month.

Another source said: "She is just holding things down like Kanye did for her when she needed support.

"Kim is doing much better and is strong. This shall pass she believes.

"Their time together was just about support. Kanye will be ok. He has a good set of doctors and the main thing is he wants to get through this."

Previous reports claimed the 'Gold Digger' hitmaker would be released from hospital on Monday but it is not yet known whether he will be well enough to do so.
