Liverpool boxer escapes jail after assaulting Bollywood actress

Champion boxer Joseph Selkirk has escaped jail after admitting assaulting his girlfriend - Bollywood actress Amy Jackson.

The European light-middleweight title holder, 28, originally denied pushing the Bollywood actress to the ground during a row at the Malmaison hotel in Liverpool on November 8 2013.

A champion boxer who attacked his Bollywood actress girlfriend has been given a 12-month community service order and fined GBP300 by the Crown Prosecution Service.
 
According to ITV News, Joseph Selkirk, 28, admitted to assaulting Amy Jackson.

 
CPS officials say Selkirk attacked Ms Jackson in an argument at the Malmaison hotel in Liverpool centre in last November.
 
The boxer pleaded guilty at the preliminary hearing in March at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.
 
Officials added several witnesses said they saw the couple drinking on the night of the attack, as well as the boxer pushing the actress out of a car.
 
Ms Jackson was also seen holding her jaw in agony by the time the police arrived.

Amy Louise Jackson is a British model and actress, who worked mainly in the South Indian film industry but also in Hindi films.

She won the Miss Teen World competition in 2009 and then went on to win Miss Liverpool in 2010.

She made her acting debut with the 2010 Tamil period-drama 'Madrasapattinam', and followed it up with her first Bollywood release in 2012, the romantic drama 'Ekk Deewana Tha'.

She starred in a 2013 Telugu film 'Yevadu' alongside Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan.
