Miami to Manipur, JLo to Mary Kom: Priyanka Chopra is 'Exotic'

Over the years many Bollywood actors have become the global face of Indian cinema. Each has contributed to world entertainment in their own way.

Bollywood has few actor-turned-singers, but no one has made a mark in the west for their singing abilities the way Priyanka Chopra now has.

With international collaborations with singers, rapper and record producers Priyanka is taking India a notch higher in international circuit.

Her first single, "In My City", debuted in the US in a TV spot for the NFL Network's 'Thursday Night Football'. "In My City" featuring rapper will.i.am received mixed reviews.
 
Her latest 'Exotic' audio leaked online before the release and soon the sexy video, which was shot in Miami, was unveiled.

 
Priyanka drew lot of flak for "aping" pop diva Jennifer Lopez. Critics wrote, "Priyanka Chopra's 'Exotic' is more odd than exotic. A video that conjures up images of a glittery Jennifer Lopez gone wrong to candy floss Britney style shots, Priyanka has tried it all".
 
"Moving from "In my city" Will.i.am to "Exotic" Pitbull, Priyanka seems to go the Lopez way quite a bit. But PeeCee (her moniker) is no JLo."

The 'Miss World and Mr Worldwide' collaboration got thumbs down from many quarters but Priyanka is no quitter.
 
To be featured during NFL Network's "Thursday Night Football" kick-off game and to work with two reputed rappers Pitbull and Will.i.am is not child's play, what PeeCee did was not less a feat.

However, Priyanka is now back to Bollywood concentrating on her primary job as an actress.

She has resumed work with the shoot of five times World Champion and Olympian boxing star Mary Kom's biopic. And first stop
 
Priyanka was in Imphal to do research on her role and took time out to visit Mary and the place where the boxing champ practises.
 
With director Omung Kumar Priyanka met Mary and her newborn son Prince Chungthanglen Kom (Mary’s third child). 

Addressing a press conference Priyanka said, “This was a purely research trip. It was wonderful for me, Omung and the team to be hosted by Mary, Onler and her family.”
 
Priyanka Chopra and Mary Kom have been in touch constantly, ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali planned a biopic on the Olympian boxing star. 

 
Mary also took the actress around for a short tour, Priyanka tweeted, "Road tripppp! Interiors of Manipur r so full of character..with #MaryKom as my travel guide".
 
She was spotted having dinner with Mary at an Imphal restaurant. When fans inundated them with requests for photos, the girls graciously obliged, and posed.
 
She hopes to visit the Manipur capital again.
 
With international spotlight, this multi-award-winning actress is going to fight it out in every front.
 
Priyanka has already established her acting prowess, but now this Bollywood beauty is ready to conquer the American music charts.
 
Speaking to an Indian daily Priyanka said, "Let me continue to surprise the audience. Whether it's my movies or my songs, I like being organic... I may or may not succeed in whatever I do, but I would like to keep the surprise element going."
