Bollywood movie 'Piku' is finally gearing for a May 7 release.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar the film sees leading lady Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in this father-daughter drama.

Excerpts from Irrfan Khan interview.

You said in an interview that 'Piku' is a special movie for you. In what way?

'Piku' is a special film for me because I have been longing to work with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and other technicians like Shoojit Sircar and his team.

I love the kind of films that Shoojit makes and have wanted to work with him.

There is Juhi Chaturvedi who is the writer of the film adn she takes the definition of entertainment to another level altogether.

Well, there is Maushumi Chatterji in the film as well and I have been a huge fan of hers for many years and I got to work with her too.

How was it working with Deepika Padukone?

My chemistry with Deepika has come out fabulously well on screen. As far as I can say, the film will see one of Deepika's best performances till date.

You have the image of a serious actor, how romantic are you in real life?

Aah! I am a very romantic person inside. Romance is very pleasing to me. I like to watch romantic films. I am a Woman's man .The romance of life is not less interesting. Well I think the bitter realities of life is where romance works as an ointment.

What have you learned from the Superstar?

Amitabh Bachchan is an inspiration to us all. Even when I was in the process of becoming an actor, I took inspiration from him. He is very experienced actor. His gestures and reactions for every character make the character look a tad too special. As an actor Amitabh Bachchan is still curious like a child. he experiments, expresses and makes in memorable with an undeniable spontaneity and innocence. His hard work and commitment is some thing that every actor should learn from and strive for.

You wanted to be a cricketer? Whatever that is aching with desire?

I love sports, and still do, I don't regret anything, I happy for what I am doing and and I enjoy my work.

How connected you find yourself in this film?

In many countries, children and parents do not live together when the child grows up. Children in many countries in the west do not want to be provided for by the parents when they reach adulthood.

We are lucky in this case, but yet we believe in family traditions and live with our parents, but the days are not far when the West's civilization will sink us and makes us drift. I believe that parents staying with children has its own advantages and disadvantages.

When parents wants to live their dreams through their children, that's when things start going awry.

You are from a business family. How did you move to films?

I come from a rather big and large family and I opted to get into acting rather than get into the family business. But then, I have not discarded my responsibilites and thankfully I have been having my feet on the ground.

What's next on the anvil?

I have just finished shooting for an English film. I have also completed Nishikant Kamat's film 'Madaari' and then there is the Hollywood film 'Jurrassic Park' as well. I will soon start shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj as well.
