The seventh season of Indian dance reality show 'Nach Baliye' took off with celebrity couples shaking a leg (thank God nobody broke one).

This season is supposed to be #TooMuch - we assume of dance and fun.

But the first episode was more about creating forced controversy, drama, intruding contestants' personal space and only a bit of dance.

Playing a big role in all these extra curriculum activities is judge Chetan Bhagat.

Contestants and audiences alike felt Bhagat was trying hard to rub everyone the wrong way and hog the limelight.

Who decided to bring in an IIT and IIM alumnus, former banker turned average author to judge a dance show?

One 'Nach Baliye' fan says the show was less of dance, more of lecture sessions by Bhagat.

After every performance he launched into moral tirade on the status of the couple's relationship.

The judge was all preachy, telling contestants how their relationships should work, how they should be all sincere and (wait for this one) how they shouldn't elope.

Has Chetan Bhagat forgotten his own past which he chronicled in the bestseller '2 States'?

His act of imparting knowledge on relationship has got nothing to do with dance and Bhagat's outrage was entirely staged.

Chetan Bhagat as dance show judge is scare, but it is scarier now that he turns relationship guru.

The other judges were almost irrelevant. Preity Zinta looked pretty in her golden gown but too sweet to be a judge. She even gets snapped at by Bhagat.

Choreographer Marzi Pestonji struggled with his broken Hindi and funny accent.

The twist in the tale this year is that the female and male contestants will be locked into two separate houses, and will also have to do tasks every week.

So basically, 'Nach Baliye' is a concoction of 'Splitsvilla' and 'Bigg Boss'.

The opening show of 'Nach Baliye 7' stirred up enough controversies. The makers would be happy and let Bhagat continue with his Moral Science classes.
