‘Bigg Boss Nau’ is being launched on October 11, which also happens to be the birthday of Amitabh Bachchan who was the third host of the show. We found the co-incidence rather planned and asked Salman about it. “Yes, it is, indeed, a co-incidence, but now that we know about it, we will not change the date. He has been a host on the show earlier and it will be a pleasant co-incidence,” said the actor-anchor. “It will be a special way to wish him on his birthday,” smiles Khan.

Quiz Salman on who his Bigg Boss is and pat comes the answer, straight out of a Soooraj Barjatya movie.

“My Bigg Bosses are at my home. They are my parents. There is no one bigger than them,” he says, matter-of-factly without blinking an eyelid. Now that he is working in Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’, this was expected.

Salman Khan has been the most emotional host on the show as he is one who seems to be involved in their lives rather remaining an ‘outsider’.

“That is because I do not want them to be in trouble. It generally takes me around two months to understand them. The people from the show call me and tell me stories about the contestants, perhaps for me to comprehend why they behave in a particular way on the show and how much of is it real and how much of it is play-acting to stay on the show. Then I realise whether they are seriously acting before the camera to stay on the show for another week or is their real face being exposed to the public. Unfortunately if it is their real ugly face that is being exposed, they will be in big trouble when they get out of the house. I try and control and advice such people,” explained Khan.

Every year Khan makes an announcement that he will not continue on the show anymore and yet returns.

“I get so hassled by the kind of activity that happens on the show from people who want to stay on the show and the mad rush to get the TRPs rolling. Then I also think about all the stories I get to know about these people and wonder whether I should listen to their stories or get on with my life and other work. I get irritated by this TRP game, but I feel very contented with the show. And that is the reason I keep coming back,” he added.

Actor, painter, writer, host or producer… Which role does he enjoy the most?

“I love painting the most. I am painting my farmhouse at the moment. If anyone wants to get their house painted, they should call me now (laughs). Everything has a time. When I was shooting for ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’, I was actually producing two films simultaneously enjoying the creative responsibility. I think I am a jack of all trades and master of none,” he signs off.

One major reason for a lot of celebrities to come on the show is that they feel that it would open doors for them to enter a Salman Khan movie.

“I don’t think it is true. Only Armaan Kohli had expressed it on the show that he wanted to be in my movies. He shouldn’t have done so. But then I had given him an offer three years ago to act in a movie, which he rejected. So he must have felt that I will not come back with another offer and he expressed the interest. He also met Sooraj Barjatya who rejected him. But then he had another look at his earlier films and offered him the villain’s part in the movie,” revealed Salman Khan.

Salman is still single. When does he become double?

“Ha. Look at me! I am already double because of my size.  By the time I finish shooting for ‘Sultan’, I will be triple. Try and live my life, you will know all the answers. Marriage will take place when it has to happen,” he said philosophically.
