Pratyusha Banerjee has catapulted to stardom playing a traditional conservative Rajasthani bahu (daughter-in-law) for three years. But enough of sobbing, she is now turning into a modern Bengali girl.

The ex-Balika Vadhu protagonist Pratyusha Banerjee is back on TV!

After the entire hullabaloo to get her back, following her exit from 'Balika Vadhu' she is finally returning to the small screen in a new serial which is set up in the Indian city of Kolkata.

Pratyusha will be playing the role of a Bengali daughter-in law and this time her fashion mantra will also change.

No more traditional Rajasthani ghagra-choli and saree but Pratyusha will wear Indo-western outfits which is quite different from character Anandi.

Earlier in an exclusive interview with Emirates24|7 she said, "I have signed a contract for another daily soap which will soon be aired on Star Plus. Whenever I come it will be quite different from Anandi, it will be more of a modern girl who has a lot of dignity and values."

When Prats had quit 'Balika Vadhu' (BV) fans were extremely disappointed and wanted her to return. Petitions were signed and BV ratings dropped drastically.

But the star was forced to leave to spend more time with her mother who was unwell.

"My mum has been unwell and had to undergo an eye operation. I love her a lot and wanted to be with her but due to hectic schedules I could not do so," said the 21-year old actor.

Rumours had it that her sudden decision was due to a movie offer made by Vikram Bhatt. However, Pratyusha declined the offer.

"Vikram Bhatt had offered me a role in his forthcoming movie but I had to turn it down as my I wanted to spend more time with her. But now I have decided to continue doing roles on TV," she said.

But the twist in the tale came when it was alleged that Prats was trying her best to return to BV. Apparently, on Twitter she had claimed that she got in touch with the producers of BV asking them if she could return.

On the social networking site she quipped about how her pleas were turned down.

When Emirates24|7 got in touch with her, she shunned all the reports, "It’s a fake account", she said completely shocked to hear about it.

Pratyusha added, “I have already signed a contract with another show and I am not at planning to go back to ‘Balika Vadhu’.

“Everything is over and sorted out. I have moved on.”

All's well that end well. Balika Vadhu is now a close episode but a whole new chapter awaits Pratyusha Banerjee.
