Bollywood actor Preity Zinta’s molestation case has been the talk of the town and two weeks after the actor filed a complaint, she has managed to record a statement, Mid-Day reported.

Preity along with her lawyer met Mumbai crime branch officials on Tuesday at the Wankhede stadium to recount the incident.

In an hour and a half long interrogation Preity stated that the incident took place at Garware Pavillion. It all began after Wadia abused her team Kings XI Punjab when she intervened.

The duo were returning to Preity’s seat and throughout Ness had been yelling until an American stepped in and asked him to back off. Upon returning to the team on the ground, Ness abused again.

Preity has also provided names of around 15 eyewitnesses for the case and each of them will soon be questioned.

Preity Zinta is the most sought after woman in Mumbai. Evidence enough are these pictures from the media circus encamped outside her house.

Zinta flew in from the US this week to give her statement to the Mumbai Police as regards her physical and verbal molestation accusation against Ness Wadia.

Zinta also requested, by media statement, that her friends and relatives be left alone.

Well judging by the media hype surrounding the case, that is wishful thinking.

Bollywood's biggest blockbuster

It is by far India’s biggest blockbuster of the season. And as it unfolds, like a TV drama to rival Game of Thrones, sinister subplots are revealed each week.

The Preity Zinta vs Ness Wadia physical and verbal molestation police case (not sexual it has been clarified) has all the elements that capture the Indian imagination, make it interesting globally and what every Bollywood masala mix strives for.

A legendary cricketer’s son and the Mumbai underworld are now part of the unfolding events. Add those to the main characters of this drama – Preity Zinta, a Bollywood actress and Ness Wadia, the dashing scion of one of India’s leading industrial houses, and one can see why the public interest is unlikely to wane in this saga.

Some Indian news sites have gone so far as to name the son of Sachin Tendulkar – Arjun – as being present when the alleged misbehavior took place.

The Times of India reports that Mumbai gangster Ravi Pujari allegedly called up the Wadias asking them not to "harass" Zinta.

The Wadias have since lodged a fresh complaint with the police saying they have received four more calls from the same number. The further twist to the plot is the claim by some Indian media sites that Ness Wadia is romantically involved with someone from the Middle East.

Bollywood itself has yet to take definitive sides in the unfolding case.Indian tabloid Mid-Day reports that both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are avoiding direct question about Preity’s allegations against Ness, while Saif Ali Khan cites both as friends.

With the underworld now involved, the Mumbai Police are on their toes and there is no saying where this case will go next.
