Superstar Rajinikanth appeared to be in the pink of health, putting to rest all those rumours that had his ailing health taking centre stage last year, with the actor jetting off to London over the weekend to launch his highly anticipated film, “Kochadaiyaan – The Legend.”

Joining him at the launch was daughter and film director, Soundarya, along with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and film producer Dr J Murali of Media One Global Entertainment.

The Tamilian film, which is also set to release in Hindi, English, Telugu and Japanese, is set to rival Hollywood masterpiecesas “Avatar” and “The Adventures of Tin Tin” in terms of ground breaking special effects.

A first within the Indian realm of movie making, “Kochadayiaan” is said to feature the visual mastery of Performance Capturing with Photorealistic Technology, which is said to transcend thestate-of-the-art advanced technology and the CGI capabilities utilised in Hollywood.

The period film sees Rajinikanth play the archetypal superhero in the epic dramatisation of good versus evil. Also starring are Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff and South India’s stars R Sarathkumar, Aadhi and Shobana.

“Kochadaiyaan” is expected to release during the Indian festival of Diwali this year, with Rajinikanth confirming the news to the media earlier this month at the airport before he started to London for 20 days shooting along with Soundarya and Ravikumar.

Rajinikanth has also sung a song in this film after 21 years, which is said to be a philosophical theme song; this is the second time that the actor has crooned for a film. Earlier he had sung a song called “Adikuthu Kuliru” in the film “Mannan” that was released in 1992.

The film will be released worldwide by Eros International.
