The Dubai premiere for Bollywood's 'Kill Dil’ has been cancelled, according to organisers and producers, Yash Raj Films.

The premiere was scheduled for tonight (Nov 12) at Deira City Centre, alongside a citywide set of film promotions with lead stars Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra.

Actor Govinda had already declined to attend, citing health reasons.

In a statement issued to the media, Nelson D'Souza, Head of Operations, MENA, Yash Raj Films stated, "Due to unavoidable circumstances, the proposed Dubai premiere of our film 'Kill Dil' on 12th November at VOX Cinemas Deira has been cancelled. The inconvenience is highly regretted."

However, Vox Cinemas have confirmed that 'Kill Dil' will still be screened as the first Bollywood film to release in 4DX.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Nelson D'Souza, revealed that hosting the movie's premiere in Dubai close on the heels of the media frenzy that followed Shah Rukh Khan's grand event for 'Happy New Year' in the city, was testament to Dubai's importance as a key market for the Indian film industry.

In a statement, Cameron Mitchell, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Cinema, further said, "The launch of the first Indian film in 4DX will be absolutely ground-breaking - movie-goers in the region will have never experienced anything like this before in their lives. Audiences will see, hear and feel their favourite Hindi movies."

D'Souza told this website that 'Kill Dil' will release across 70-75 locations in the UAE, or up to 125 screens here.

He added, "The UAE has emerged as one of the biggest overseas markets for Bollywood films, even overtaking the US and the UK in terms of size and returns."

The energetic trio of Singh, Chopra and Zafar were expected to embark on a promotional blitzkrieg for the film with appearances at Aster Clinic in Deira, followed by a red carpet event at Vox Cinemas Deira City Centre at 7.30pm.

The trio were to also host an exclusive 9.30pm dinner at Tresind, the new five-star Indian dining concept at the Radisson Royal Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road that will officially throw open its doors, followed by a midnight appearance at Boudoir nightclub.

'Kill Dil', which releases across UAE cinemas on Thursday, is an action packed romance set in North India where two killers Dev (Singh) and Tutu (Zafar) meet with free-spirited Disha (Chopra). What follows is a game of defiance, deception and love.

For those wondering about the 4DX capability, the concept itself was launched in 2010 in Korea, it offers a visual, aural and tactile experience for viewers.
