Rihanna returns to Abu Dhabi for Eid concert

Embarking on her world tour, controversy’s poster child Rihanna is all set to croon to crowds in the capital as she heads in on October 19.

Organised by Flash Entertainment, the Saturday evening concert, part of the ‘Diamonds World Tour’ will be hosted at the du Arena, Yas Island, with tickets for the gig going on sale from May 9 at midday.

With over 63 million fans on Facebook alone, and another 27 million on Twitter, Rihanna has performed to sold out concerts here in the past, with her last gig being a New Year’s Eve concert in December 2009 that brought the house down.

The six-time Grammy Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards winner, Rihanna has sold over 41 million albums and 150 million digital tracks worldwide, and currently holds the record as the top-selling digital artist of all time.

Forbes named Rihanna the world’s number one social media star with over 2.9 billion views on YouTube/VEVO, the most ever for any female artist.

The concert will be an all-standing event, with prices starting from Dh250, with a limited quantity of early bird tickets available.

Full ticket packages will be announced next week according to organisers.
