Which bride on earth would like their wedding dress to be scribbled on by six kids?

That's why we believe Angelina Jolie is special in more ways than just one.

The marriage of Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, in France on August 23, was never going to be an ordinary wedding.

Here are few details from friends who ttened the star's intimate, yet dream wedding.

The newlyweds have now shared a selection of pictures of the day with celebrity magazines 'Hello!' and 'People'.

The two publications stumped up millions between them for the rights — some reports put the figure as high as Dh36 million — all of which the stars are donating to charity, probably their own Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

VOWS:

The six children helped to write their wedding vows.

They enlisted the help of their kids Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, to make sure their words to each other were extra-special and personal on their big day.

ROLE PLAY:

The couple’s children took centre stage — both for the major parts they played in the ceremony and for the fact that the wedding only took place to appease their pestering. "We didn’t realise how much it meant to them," Pitt has previously observed.

Zahara and Vivienne were flower girls. Eldest sons Maddox and Pax walked Angelina down the aisle. Then Vivienne’s twin Knox, and Shiloh were the ring-bearers.

Pax also had a special part to play in the nuptials as the youngster and his pals created the Brad, 50, and Angelina's wedding cake.

"They picked their clothes and their duties," Angelina explained. "They all took it very seriously. Knox practised carrying coins and acorns on his little pillow before he got his ring. It’s a wonderful feeling to be married. The children are so happy. They are our best friends and the people closest to us in our lives."

BOUQUET:

No flowers or floral arrangements, aside from some pink oleander bloom petals which Zahara and Vivienne used to strew in Angelina’s path.

The bride carried an informal bouquet of wild flowers picked from the gardens. Oddly, this seems to include oleander leaves, even though the plant is poisonous. These leaves were combined with sweetly scented white valerian.

THE DRESS:

Children also played a big part in designing the 39-year-old brunette's gorgeous wedding gown, which featured the kids' drawings on a fetching hand-printed veil.

The sketches included pictures of the youngsters as well as the Eiffel Tower, zebras, a drum kit and words including "dad" and "mom", but one of their cheeky clan had scribbled "buffock futtock" on the gown.

Angelina's main section of dress was designed by Atelier Versace's tailor Luigi Massi, who worked closely with the 'Maleficent' actress on the outfit.

She said: "Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress. He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."

Jeweller Robert Procop had the enviable task to designing the bride's stunning wedding band, an estimated 16-carat, emerald-cut diamond worth around $500,000 after he did such a great job creating her $250,000 diamond engagement ring.

BRIDAL HUM:

Angelina made her grand entry as Brad, their children and the 20-odd guests hummed 'Here Comes The Bride'. The traditional Wedding March played on their way out.

TRIBUTE:

Brad Pitt paid a special tribute to Angelina Jolie's late mother on their wedding day.

On the stone where the couple stood for their vows in the chapel, the 50-year-old star had the name ‘Marcheline’ engraved and picked out in gold leaf. It was a thoughtful tribute to Angelina’s mother, who died of ovarian cancer in 2007, making her presence a part of the day.

GIGGLES AND FUN:

A source said: "The atmosphere was warm and informal - there were giggles and a ring was dropped.

"All the children helped to write the vows and asked their parents to make promises to each other."

Speaking to UK's 'Hello! magazine', in conjunction with 'People' magazine in the US, the couple said: "It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."

A source said: "Brad and Angelina wanted the ceremony to be both simple and personal."

An insider added: "They always wanted to have this wedding at the chapel at Miraval. That is their family home, it is where the children and they are at their happiest ... There was never a question of this ceremony taking place anywhere else."

GUESTS:

No George Clooney, no Matt Damon. Angelina’s actor brother James Haven appears to have been her only guest and Brad’s family made up the rest of the party of 23.

His parents Bill and Jane attended, as did Brad’s brother Doug with his wife Lisa and their three children.

Brad’s sister Julie and her husband Rob Neil also came with their five children.

Also present were the six nannies and three security guards.

Following the ceremony, the wedding attendees were treated to a home-cooked meal including sea bass and wine from the estate.

An insider said: "It was a lovely, happy day with lots of laughter and meaning that the entire family will remember for the rest of their lives."
