They made us laugh over their sardonic absurdity as they deadpanned their way to give us 'The Royal Turds' Bollywood awards.

'Honest Indian Flights' took off with equal aplomb, with the most recent in the 'Honest...' series will probably force many to reassess the institution of the big fat Indian wedding.

These are the boys from AIB and they are headed back to Dubai to tickle a few funny bones and perhaps court a little less controversy after getting their fingers burned with the Ranveer Singh-Arjun Kapoor
'Roast' last year.

Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya will perform at Jumeirah Emirates Towers on June 4, with tickets going on sale from May 20.

Speaking with Emirates 24|7, a spokesperson from organiser Glam Affaire stated: "AIB command a very large following in India and over social media, with 1.3 million fans over Facebook alone.

"The situation is no different in Dubai, which is why we are hosting them for the third time in the city."

Organisers expect another sold-out show, much like the previous two outings, with the current show’s capacity being 750 people.

The spokesperson further added: "There will also be an after-party held at the same venue where DJ Shadow will perform; the four boys will be attending the event."

Organisers have also stated, this third outing in Dubai will feature Bhat, who missed out on the group's second performance in the emirate; in the past, their gigs have included the ‘Royal Turds’ and a guest appearance by fellow collaborator, Abish Mathews.

"This show will have a mix of individual stand-up, small sketches and musical parodies," they further added.

Roasted on stage

The brainchild of Khamba and Bhat, the boys burst on to the scene in 2012 when they put out their first episode AIB, a comedy podcast, which they describe on their official website, 'discussed current affairs and documented the lives of anybody significant to India's growing comedy culture'.

Joshi and Shakya, fellow comedians joined AIB, and the group has gone on to become the highest selling comedy act in India with 42 consecutive sold out shows in 2013, including 10,000 tickets of their flagship spoof-Bollywood awards show.

Their sketch comedy on video and their YouTube channel has drawn a large fan following, but the foursome also courted controversy when AIB hosted its version of 'The Roast,' or the AIB Knockout in December 2014, with celebrity guests, producer-director Karan Johar, and actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor.

The show was organised for a private audience of 4,000 and uploaded on AIB’s YouTube channel in January.

Soon after it went viral, the group was forced to remove the video as the show was deemed 'offensive' by certain groups and activists.

In a following statement, AIB stated: "They're just jokes. Unfunny, crass or whatever you want to call them, they're still just jokes.

"The AIB Knockout video has been taken down. While we'd love to claim that it's because so many people watched it that it broke YouTube, the truth's a little sadder."

The group stated further at the time: "...AIB Knockout was another such attempt to try something new and bring the roast format to a country where celebrities aren’t often known to laugh at themselves.

"The video came with a clear disclaimer with several age and content warnings… we wanted to push the envelope of comedy in this country. But then the envelope pushed back."

Not one to allow setback to affect them, the Mumbai-based group has returned with its most recent YouTube video, a two-part take on Indian weddings, riddled with gems and innuendos in a conversation between two sides in a traditional marriage set-up.

Tickets for AIB in Dubai will go on sale from May 20, with tickets priced at Dh350 and Dh250, with UAE Exchange and Platinumlist, which includes entry to the after-party. Those who just want to attend the after-party can purchase tickets for Dh100.
