A candid Salman Khan has marriage on his mind, with the actor admitting he's yearning to have kids of his own ‘very soon’.

In Dubai on Thursday for the store launch of PNG Jewellers, a visibly exuberant Khan even dropped the name of his ex-Sangeeta Bijalani, confessing that he was courting controversy by admitting her former husband, Mohammed Azharuddin was his favourite cricketer.

"Oh wait, is he still her husband?" laughed Khan.

The actor, who appeared two hours late for the press conference, admitted that a woman's most precious adornment was ‘simplicity’.

He stated: "By simplicity I don't mean jewellery, but simplicity of mind. That is what really impresses me."

Asked about his wedding plans, and the usually reclusive actor, didn't evade the question in his candid style but rather said: "I always get so close to a wedding. God has been very kind. You can ask most married men and they will tell you what I mean."

He continued: "But one day my luck will run out. I hope it runs out soon. But more than marriage, having children is on my list. If I can figure out how to have those without marriage..."

Talking about his decision to endorse a jewellery brand, Khan admitted that he only attached his name to a product that was valued at home.

He stated: "When I endorsed the detergent powder Wheel, I first asked my mother upstairs what detergent we used at home. She named two brands, one of them was Wheel.

"When I told her I had been offered the product for endorsement, she told me to go ahead with it.

"Similarly, I endorse Suzuki bikes, which I personally ride and we eat Britannia at home."

Does that mean his family will now be wearing only PNG Jewellery in future? Quiz Khan and he said: "Please no more jewellery. We just got my sister Arpita married. I am up to my ears in more jewellery buying."

The actor, who admitted he only ever wears his trademark turquoise and white gold bracelet, said in future any jewellery that he wears in his films will come from the brand he endorses, which includes the upcoming 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' opposite Sonam Kapoor.

Speaking about the Being Human jewellery line that will be go in sale across the GCC in few months, Khan stated: "My fans buy copies of my bracelet and we get no royalties for it, so we decided to officially market the bracelet I wear and benefit my Being Human foundation in the process. Now please, buy it officially."

He continued: "I will have creative say in the Being Human line of jewellery, but I have so many women at home, like my mom, sister Alvira and Arpita who can do the advising for the jewellery. Why do you need me?"

With the cricket world cup drawing viewers from around the world, ask Khan who his favourite player was and he joked: "Cricket, wait, there are 11 players right?"

Prompted further and he said: "My favourite player is Mohammed Azharuddin. He is Sangeeta Bijalani's husband, no former husband. Anyone who knows who she is knows my choice is not a diplomatic one."

Bijalani was once engaged to Khan, before the wedding was called off weeks before the big day.

Khan, who has also been compared to cricketer Virat Kohli in looks and brattish ways, commented on the comparison saying: "I don't think I am like Virat Kohli. He is too metrosexual. I am not."

The actor, who even has a song named after him of late with actor Arjun Kapoor professing himself as the star's biggest fan, we posed who is Khan a big fan of, to which he said: "You know that actor Salman Khan, he's the one to watch out for."
