Salman Khan hit-and-run case: Verdict to be announced on May 6

The verdict in the Salman Khan hit-and-run case will be announced on May 6.

A court trying Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case will pronounce the verdict on may 6.

This follows the completion of final arguments by defence counsel, Salman's lawyer before the court on Monday afternoon.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan is facing trial for nearly 13 years in an accident case in Bandra (Mumbai) during the early hours of September 28, 2002.

Khan allegedly drove his SUV on to the pavement in Hill Road, Bandra in Mumba's suburbs, killing one person and injuring four others.

According to The Times of India, the actor has been charged of culpable homicide not amounting to murder which attracts up to 10 years in prison.

Charges of rash and negligent driving are levied on him which attracts six months' jail.

He has also charged of causing hurt by act of endangering life and causing grievous hurt with punishment up to two years; and mischief causing damage to property with maximum punishment of up to two years.
