Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra to sizzle in IPL 5

Indian Premiere League (IPL) Season 5 cricketing extravaganza is just a month away. The countdown of season 5 which starts from April 4 has begun.

While the whole nation is all excited and enthusiastic about it, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan will be gearing up for the opening ceremony.

According to reports, Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan are set to be a part of the Indian Premier League's opening ceremony to be held at YMCA College of Physical Education on April 3 in Chennai a day before the matches begin.

Amitabh Bachchan will also grace the occasion.

Apart from Bollywood stars, the 'Opening Nite' will also feature performance from a leading international artist.

The event will also feature all nine team captains taking the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge, which has been on display since the competition's inception in 2008.
 
The opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm IST, however, the venue gates will be thrown open to the audience from 5:00 pm.
 
The sale of the tickets, pegged at a starting price of Dh109.6, would be on sale from March 16.
 
Amitabh Bachchan expressed great joy to be part of the ceremony and tweeted that he is preparing himself and is nervous as the day approaches.
 
"Asia Cup over soon and then IPL .. opening extravaganza in Chennai .. and yours truly a small part of it ...nervous as hell !!".

"They do the opening show of IPL a day before they play unlike other years .. its a separate performance at prestigious venue ..And yes the show will be on Sony ..meeting all the Captains and teams will be such an honor ..seen all of them on Tv, now personally".

"April 3rd is the day for the opening .. preparing for it already .. getting back into the grind .." the actor posted on his Twitter page.

Along with Big B fans might also see the 'Kolaveri Di' fame Dhanush perform.

Over the years IPL has become not just an annual cricketing event but an entire package of sports and entertainment. Each year fans see a deluge of celebrities supporting IPL as mere spectators, brand ambassadors, sponsors or team owners.
