Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 2' set a Christmas date

This year during the Christmas weekend, Bollywood actor Salman Khan will release his home production 'Dabangg 2'.

This movie will mark Salman's return in the popular avatar of the maverick inspector Chulbul Pandey. Report suggest, he has also planned a grand 2013 Christmas opening for Shrish Kunder's 'Kick', although 2013 is a long way to go but it shows the actor's packed calendar.

Earlier Salman released his three blockbuster movie during the Eid weekend. Wanted in 2009, ‘Dabangg’ in 2010 and Bodyguard last year were massive hits. Looks like festival openings have always been a good omen for the hero.

'Dabangg 2' is directed and produced by Salman's brother Arbaaz Khan. It stars Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, with Prakash Raj playing the role of the main antagonist. It also has Sonu Sood, Vinod Khanna, Deepak Dobriyal and Nikitan Dheer in supporting roles.

In 'Dabangg' the story was based in a small village of Uttar Pradesh. But for the sequel now that Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha are married (in the film), they move to a bigger town, Kanpur.

Thus, for 'Dabangg 2', the team has created a huge set of Kanpur city, which occupies 80 per cent of the Kamalistan studio.
