Indian reality show 'Bigg Boss' is infamous for its controversial celebrity contestants, fights and elimination.

However, one thing that has always hogged the limelight in the last four seasons is host Salman Khan.

But that will now change. The actor, who has had multiple disagreements with the channel telecasting the show, will not return to host this.

During a heating argument season 7 Salman very famously said he will quit the show.

Salman is known to openly express his feelings and was criticised severely by audience for showing favouritism.

The actor was asked to tone down his judgmental attitude towards contestants by the channel but he didn't like any restrictions on his spontaneity.

During season 7 Salman faced lot of negative publicity.

He was bombarded with angry tweets, comments and media reports for being too harsh on contestant Gauhar Khan and covering up Tanisha Mukherjee's misdemeanours.

Ultimately the actor took to Twitter to vent his frustration and asked fans to stop watching the scandalous reality show.

He tweeted, “BB fans who don’t like Saturday and Sunday episodes, please don’t waste your time sure u have v imp things to do. Elections coming up do vote. Seriously if you don’t like please don’t watch, even if 1 family member does not like it the rest should respect that and change the channel.”

Salman took his time to give a long explanation and wrote, "If there is something that bothers you, makes you uncomfortable, don't like then don't do, be a part or see it. It’s the best, most simple solution. It's ok that some people have not liked BB7. Each one is entitled to their opinions so no point in you guys fighting like BB7 on twitter.

Salman who took over from the last host, Amitabh Bachchan in season 4, has often faced backlash from the participants, including Pooja Bedi, who during the fifth season, publicly alleged that Salman demoralised her friend and co-contestant Akashdeep Saigal.

In the fifth season, the show was also shifted from prime time to the 'adult slot' (post 11 pm). This did not go down well with Salman.

In the sixth season, hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani lashed out at him, calling him "names". Sapna's outburst was prompted by a rebuke from Salman.  Bhavnani's tirade was largely edited out of the telecast.

Though Salman has made a decision the broadcasting channel still hopes the actor changes his stance.

However, Salman will be back on television with a new show.

During one of his promotional interactions with the press, Salman Khan spilled the beans on hosting a new TV show on social causes.

The concept will be different emulsifying social issues with lot more entertainment.

"It's a brand new show altogether, we will rock next year," Salman told the media at an event.

Well, with Salman as a host entertainment is assured.
