The Arab Indo Bollywood Awards (AIBA) have now roped in India's National Award winning choreographer Shiamak Davar to spearhead the dance performances at the glittering ceremony that will be held in Dubai on May 29.

This can only mean celebs such as Salman Khan, who is expected to attend, along with the likes of Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra and Jacqueline Fernandez will dancing to his tunes on the night.

In a media statement, Davar stated: "Bollywood is extremely popular the world over and I'm looking forward to taking it to this magnificent city with AIBA.

"I love choreographing stage shows and this is another fantastic opportunity to showcase the larger than life experience that Bollywood brings. Dance truly bridges cultures and I'm sure this will be a landmark event."

Davar's on-screen and on-stage work may have won him accolades, but the 'Guru of Contemporary Dance', as he is referred to in India, has recently also courted controversy following allegations of sexual abuse by two residents of North Vancouver, Canada.

They have alleged that Davar is an abusive and controlling leader of a sect called VRRP Spiritual Learning group, according to two lawsuits filed in the Canadian province of British Columbia Supreme Court.

Davar has denied the allegations.

In a media statement to IANS, Davar stated: "I'm shocked by these allegations and deny them completely. I will not be intimidated into silence and will defend myself vigorously in court."

He continued: "Even though I'm extremely anxious to speak the truth, I have been advised not to do so publicly by my lawyer, David Crossin, as this matter is now before the court."

Davar won the Indian National Award for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dil To Pagal Hai'.

The choreographer also runs The Shiamak Davar Dance Company, with students from the academy flying down to Dubai to performi with the Bollywood celebs at AIBA.

The acts will be an mix of Bollywood, Arabian and Western dance moves, say organisers Benchmark Media in association with Al Bustan Group.
