Reality star, Kim Kardashian, has been desperate to make the front cover of US Vogue (maybe for the last 33 years).

And her knight in shining armour - boyfriend Kanye West, won the battle for her - coaxing good friend editor Anna Wintour.

And now, Kim Kardashian says securing the front cover of US Vogue is “a dream come true”.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star was snapped by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz for the magazine's April issue with her rapper fiancé Kanye West, after he reportedly spent more than a year trying to convince its editor Anna Wintour to feature the reality TV star.

Clearly ecstatic, the 33-year-old star shared an image of the cover on Twitter, which shows Kanye standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist.

Her white strapless Lanvin wedding gown is a nod to their upcoming wedding in Paris on May 24, shortly after it was released on the magazine's website on Friday (21.03.14).

Kim tweeted: "This is such a dream come true!!! Thank you @VogueMagazine for this cover! O M GGGGGG!!! I can't even breath! (sic)"

Her mother Kris Jenner also shared the image and tweeted: "Gorgeous!!!! @voguemagazine kimkardashian @kanyewest #amazing #stunning #soproudofyoutwo #AnnieLeibowitz (sic)".

Eight-month-old baby North West joined her mother Kim and father Kanye West as they shot a series of photographs for the fashion bible and although she did not make the cover, North will appear inside the magazine's April edition.

An adorable behind-the-scenes video shows her being cradled by her reality star mother and fussed over by her rapper father as they get to work shooting for Anna Wintour's publication.

A source first revealed in March 2013 that Kanye was on a mission to get Kim on the cover of Vogue despite Anna allegedly branding Kim as "the worst thing since socks and sandals”.

The insider also claimed that the style icon said Kim would only appear in the esteemed magazine "over her dead body".

Kim and Anna's feud has been well documented in the past.

The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star was banned from attending the star-studded Met Gala in New York in 2012, because Anna believed she "didn't fit the bill," and she was only invited to the annual event last year because Kanye was performing.

A source said at the time: "Anna hates Kim. Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn't fit that bill at all.

“The Met Gala is $25,000 a ticket, but Kim couldn't even buy her way in."

The fashion editor also allegedly ignored Kim at New York Fashion Week in September 2012, but she recently sat beside Kim's half-sister Kendall Jenner at Topshop's runway show at London Fashion Week suggesting the famous family had finally won her over.

Sarah Michelle Gellar boycotting Vogue

Sarah Michelle Gellar has urged her fans to boycott US Vogue, as she disapproves of fashion editor Anna Wintour's decision to put Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of magazine's April issue.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has urged her fans to boycott US Vogue.

The former 'Buffy' star announced she is cancelling her own subscription, hinting she disapproves of fashion editor Anna Wintour's decision to put reality TV star Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of magazine's April issue.

The 36-year-old actress wrote on Twitter: "Well......I guess I'm cancelling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???"

Many of the blonde beauty's followers agreed with her, but Kim's best friend Jonathan Cheban was unimpressed by her comment.

He retweeted the message, adding: "Do u matter? (sic)"

Kim and her rapper fiancé's front cover caused shockwaves when it was unveiled on Friday (21.03.14), as Anna was previously said to have declared the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, 33, would only appear in the magazine "over her dead body."

And it appears the fashion icon predicted a backlash, as she defended her decision to feature the couple in her monthly editor's letter, insisting Kanye, 36, didn't have to "beg" her for the opportunity.

Meanwhile, sources told E! News that 21-year-old model Kate Upton, who first appeared on the front of the magazine last year, was dropped as the April cover star in favour of Kim.

But Hildy Kuryk, Communications Director at Vogue, insisted: "We are all huge supporters of Kate here at Vogue and have been thrilled to feature her numerous times in the past year, both on the cover and inside the magazine. There was never a cover commitment made to Kate, and we look forward to working with her in the future."
