There is good news for fans who wished to catch the Russell Peters show and were disappointed to discover that the tickets for the show on March 20 were sold out in less than an hour. Giving in to the demand, organisers have now added another show on March 19.

Tickets of the original show slated on March 20 in Dubai sold out in record time on Wednesday with almost 5,000 tickets vanishing in less than 50 minutes.

Live Nation Middle East who organised the show reported that it was a record breaking sell out for the Russell Peters Notorious World Tour.

"We watched the sales go through the roof as soon as tickets went on sale. We were selling at the rate of over 150 tickets a minute when we initially went on sale," said Live Nation Middle East managing director Tyler Mervyn.

He also added, "Due to the overwhelming demand we have added a second show which will take place on March 19 also at the Dubai World Trade Centre."

Russell Peters is also performing in Abu Dhabi on Thursday March 22 and the show is organised by Flash Forum. Tickets for the Abu Dhabi show will go for sale on March 2 at noon.

Russell looks excited about his travel plans. He took to the micro blogging website Twitter and wrote: "Check it out.. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, JoBurg, Durban & Capetown.. I'm coming there in March and April.. I can't wait to perform for u guys again!" "I almost forgot... BEIRUT!!!," he wrote.

Even the last time he visited Dubai in 2007 all his tickets were sold out within hours. The rush for his show even then led the organisers rethink for a second day show.

The World Tour will take Peters not only to the Middle East, but also to South Africa, Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Australia, New Zealand, Northern Europe and arenas across his native Canada and the United States and also features NYC's DJ Spinbad and comedian Ruben Paul.

Tickets, priced Dh250, Dh350, Dh450 and Dh550, will be available at ticketingco.com for Dubai and thinkflash.ae for Abu Dhabi.
