With guns blazing and car going up in flames and few romantic numbers 'Chennai Express' is director Rohit Shetty idea of a romantic film.

Unabashedly the director says that as a filmmaker his priority is to make a film that entertains the masses and recovers money.

But there is a chance that his next film may officially get the tag of a romantic movie - after all reports suggest Shetty is bringing together Hindi films most loved on-screen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol together.

Arguably the most romantic couple in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's chemistry is unmatched and might put the young on-screen couples to shame.

The duo has worked together in six films but none of them have disappointed the audience.

With his latest film, 'Singham Returns' garnering a good response, director Rohit Shetty is understandably on a new high these days.

If sources are to be believed, he has another reason to smile - it turns out that he has signed on none other than Kajol opposite Shah Rukh.

Indian daily Mid Day reports, that Shetty will be directing SRK in his next film and has now signed on Kajol as the lead actress for the film.

This is indeed a coup though everything is at the planning stage right now.

Interestingly, during a TV interview when Shetty was given names of three actresses and asked whom he would cast opposite Shah Rukh, without any hesitation he replied Kajol Devgn.

It seems Rohit finalised Kajol as the leading lady of the film just last week.

In fact, the film's pre-production work has already begun and an official announcement should be made soon.

The report adds that Rohit is about to finish work on the final draft of the film's script.

It will go on the floors in the first half of 2015.
