We all know smoking is injurious to health and it is high time Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan also realises this.

The actor has been summoned by a court in the state of Rajasthan (India) for smoking in public.

Smoking publicly has been banned in Rajasthan since 2000.

Shah Rukh Khan has to appear before the court on May 26 in connection with a complaint filed against him for publicly smoking at a Stadium during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

Photo evidence and television footage show that SRK was smoking publicly while watching a match between Rajasthan Royals and his team Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8, reports Hindustan Times.

The lawyer who filed the complaint also said that every spectator was frisked before being allowed inside the stadium. Any objectionable item was confiscated including cigarette and lighter. He pointed out that it was laxity on the part of Rajasthan police who did not bother to frisk the actor properly.

There has been no statement on behalf of Shah Rukh Khan yet.
