The Autumn-Winter edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WLIFW) in New Delhi opened with a bang.

Day 1 saw designer Vineet Bahl, Anupamaa Dayal and master couturier Tarun Tahiliani display their collections.

Tahiliani's ramp set against a grand backdrop of circular metallic installations and to the beats of live Rajasthani folk music but the cherry on the icing was actress Shilpa Shetty.

Dazzling on the ramp, Shilpa cascaded down in a multi-hued silk off-shoulder blouse, billowing Kanjeevaram lehenga skirt and gold choker necklace.

The 38-year-old actress displayed her hourglass figure and said she feels great to be back on the runway after the birth of her son.

The 'Celebrity Big Brother' star has a two year old son, Viaan Raj Kundra and after the baby, she had put on 35 kgs. Earlier, she gave credits to her toddler for regaining her hour-glass figure.

Her waistline is part of Bollywood legend. But it's not like pregnancy and childbirth would leave it untouched.

Shilpa's knocked off almost 20 kilos within 10 months of giving birth to her son in 2012.

Besides athletic genes and a good metabolism, the actress got back into the svelte, lithe figure due to her effort.

HER SECRET:

Shilpa says she never diets, never skips meals, and never snacks. She drinks 10 glasses of water a day, and doesn't eat after 8 pm, always making a point to have dinner at least three hours before she sleeps. She doesn't train at a gym, preferring light weight training at home instead, at least three day a week.

On Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, Shilpa was accompanied by Harman Bawaja and Ayesha Khanna, the stars of her debut production venture ‘Dishkiyaoon’.

While Harman looked dapper in a black layered jacket and Jodhpuri breeches, Ayesha wore a black draped tunic and churidaar.

Tahilian’s collection was inspired by a variety of cultures, from Mughal grandeur to South Indian necklaces, tapestry, jamawar, Art Nouveau and retro kaleidoscope prints, the collection featured ornate kaftans, mukaish work skirts, kalidar kurta tunics, pencil and thigh-high slit skirts, jackets and more.

Gold finery decked the collars and cuffs giving the illusion of layers of golden thread.

The tunics stood out. The South Indian Necklace patterns were the inspiration behind the emperor silhouette and the necklines.

In the collection there was a special emphasis on the prints like multi scarf patterns. Unconventional sarees, dhoti skirts, jackets with slits, short crop jackets and long asymmetric kurtas gave traditional clothing a global edge.
