Bollywood legend Asha Bhosle's debut film 'Mai' will be screened on December 22, 2013 at 8pm at the Dubai Knowledge Village Auditorium.
The singer, 81, who joined the industry at the tender age of 10 is now semi-retired from Bollywood. She recently celebrated her seven decade-old illustrious career in Dubai with a three-hour concert alongside actress Rekha and actor Farooque Sheikh.
The versatile singer can only be applauded for making her big screen debut in 'Mai'. The film is a family drama that creates awareness about Alzheimer’s and its implications for the ailing and their family members.
In the film, Bhosle plays the role of a single mother with four children. She draws on her own life experiences to pull through a wonderful performance.
The film's cast includes yesteryear actress Padmini Kolhapure and television actor Ram Kapoor. Produced by Subhash Dawar, the film is scripted and directed by Mahesh Kodiyal with music by Nithin Shankar.
The special screening is part of TECOM Investments Education
Cluster’s CSR initiative. It is also part of TAIIF (The Arab Indian Intellectual Forum)’s annual programme of community events.
