Sunny Leone is on cloud nine as her 'MMS' scores big

Sunny Leone is on cloud nine. She has now clearly shrugged aside the tag of an adult film actress that had once made her popular.

Mobbed at every opportunity by men, women and even children, the actress managed to shoulder the second instalment of the Ekta Kapoor film called Ragini MMS 2 with ease, ensuring that the film has a runaway weekend collection of Rs 24 crore, which is the best any actress has managed at the first weekend this year.

“I hope that this movie continues to do extremely well. When you enter movie theatres and the owners tell you that the show is sold out and the whole weekend is sold out that makes you very happy. I want people to see this and say ‘Yes, you are growing as an actress’,” she says.

The movie perhaps has also helped her shrug off the tag of an adult film actress and given her acceptability in the industry. “Of course I do think that you can only move forward. This is definitely this is my best film till date. I do hope that people that judge me or speak bad about me, will change their mindset after watching this film or after the success of this film,” she says.

The actress also adds that she has understood the movie camera now. “I understand what the movie camera needs. It is different from what I have made before and I am learning the ropes and only getting better. It is time that people realize that,” she smiles.

Kangna Ranaut, whose much acclaimed Queen is doing exceedingly well, was a slow started and only made Rs 10 crore in its weekend collections. Sunny who had signed Ragini MMS 2, soon after signing on Jims 2, feels that she always knew that the film was a winner.

“I watched the first edition of Ragini MMS and was really scared. I have watched horror movies while growing up. I was the only person in my family who begged to watch them. And yes, I was only allowed to if my father fast forwarded through them to make sure it was age appropriate,” says Sunny Leone.

Sunny is elated at the moment. “It has been really amazing. The response has been amazing from all the fans. I never thought in a million years I would be a heroine in a movie.   

But then Sunny is not going around making too many friends. “I have only made friends with people that I worked with or working with. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to meet too many celebrities in Bollywood and make friends. I believe that will happen in due time,” she adds.

Sunny’s better half Daniel Weber is equally happy at the success of his wife who has now three movies in her kitty – Jism 2, Jackpot and now Ragini MMS and will be followed by Tina and Lolo and another film for Bobby Khan.

“Daniel has been just as pleased and over whelmed with all the support from all the people. We sit together every night and talk about how amazing life is and how amazing everyone is to us,” says the actress who is seen at events being accompanied by her husband.  “My husband is my best friend and my world. There is no better person in the world I would want to have by my side at all these events. We share these moments together and enjoy them. We were just at a Desi Event in Dallas and all they played was Bollywood music and he doesn’t know how to dance but does it anyways because we have so much fun together and he is so supportive in every way,” says Sunny.

So what’s next? “My plan is to take my business ideals from America and apply them to India as well. I have learned in entertainment that you can’t really plan out what you want to do because each day it changes from the last,” she says.
