Video: Lamest ice bucket challenge yet; Bipasha embarrassed herself?

It is being billed as the lamest Ice Bucket Challenge yet – and much to the chagrin of the socially-media conscious Indian online population (remember the Sharapova doesn’t know who Tendulkar is, spat?) it involves an Indian celebrity.

The video really says it all, but just so that we are clear – nobody seems to have told Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu that the challenge involves an ‘ice bucket’ and not an ‘ice pail’.

Given that the words ‘pail’ and ‘bucket’ are interchangeable for those not too picky about how their ice is served to them, the many celeb virals that went before Bips ‘dared’ to do this, should have given her some idea.

The Als Ice Bucket Challenge should be at least more than your average-sized bucket.

Ideally, it’s a huge drum-like container, the kind used to store so much ice that if an entire pro sports teams needs an ice pack, they have enough to use.

This means it has to hold a lot of ice. Not just enough to fill four drinking glasses.

Our verdict: Bipasha Basu has embarrassed herself, not least with the squeals after the three-and-half ice cubes went down on her.

Now, someone needs to step up and do a real ice bucket challenge. Before Poonam Pandey steps in.

If you want to create an entertaining #IceBucketChallenge video, take notes from these celebrities.

And if you are going to embrace this fad, then play to your strengths and make it unique.

What is Ice Bucket Challenge?

The challenge was created by the ALS Association, who are spreading awareness and fighting the Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease or Motor Neurone Disease in the UK.

What's the challenge - Douse yourself with a bucket of ice water, film the process and post the video to social media. You also have to then nominate your friends to do the same.

And if you don't want freezing water on your body, you are asked to donate to an ALS charity.

Novak Djokovic, Mickey Rourke, Lady Gaga, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Downey Jr, Jim Parson, Kaley Cuoco, Zoe Saldana, Justin Timberlake, Lil Wayne, Drake, Gwen Stefani, Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne and Cristiano Ronaldo among others who took the challenge.
