Weekend movie watch

It’s a dull weekend at the movies, with only three new releases, and none that deserves a trip to the theatres. So, with the weatherman predicting scorching hot days ahead, it would be wise to stay indoors and rent a few DVDs.

It’s also a chance to catch up on the movies that you missed out on, with ‘The Amazing Spider Man’ getting more attention, what with Christopher Nolan’s batman delaying his appearance in the UAE by less than a month.

Nolan’s grand finale to the Batman series, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, has suffered a massive backlash by international critics, but UAE residents will have to wait till August 16 to find out what actually went wrong this time round.

Bollywood too has shut shop, with the next big releases slated for early August. It will be Sunny Leone’s sizzling debut in ‘Jism2’ on August 2, and Salman Khan’s magnum opus ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ on August 16.

Dancing Ninja

Genre: Drama

The story: An orphaned boy lands in Hollywood to fulfil his dream of becoming a ninja and work out ways to find his birth parents. But his plans go haywire when he gets mixed up in a crime.
