What is Ekta Kapoor hiding? Income tax sleuths raid to find out

She’s by far the most successful TV producer in Mumbai, and she’s slowly creating magic in Bollywood as well, so it’s understandable how the success has attracted the Mumbai’s Income Tax sleuths to her.

Reportedly, TV and film producer Ekta Kapoor’s house was raided earlier this week.

According to the Indian media, nearly 100 IT officers were deployed to search her house and offices in Mumbai. Even her studio – Balaji Telefilms – was raided.

The officers covered seven locations across Mumbai, including her Juhu home.

Her next big Bollywood movie is just a day away from release. Starring John Abraham and Kangna Ranaut in the lead, ‘Shootout at Wadala’ will hit Dubai theatres tomorrow.

Apparently, the IT officers are investigating Ekta’s role as Joint Managing Director of her firm.

There are claims that she has allegedly misreported the income and profits of her production company.

Some media reported that she was called in for interrogation, but we’ve got no concrete evidence of the same.

Her father, yesteryear’s popular actor, Jeetandra is the chairman of her company.

According to rediff.com, “shares of the listed Balaji Telefilms were trading 4.41 per cent down at Rs 43.35 a piece on the BSE at 1132 am, with the 30-share benchmark up 0.13 per cent.”
