Will Prithviraj team up with Shah Rukh Khan?

Published

While his Bollywood debut, alongside Rani Mukherji in ‘Aiyaa’, turned out quite damaging for him and the audience, Southern movie star Prithviraj Sukumaran is optimistic that he will make it big in Bollywood.

After establishing himself as a huge star in the Malayalam movie industry, Prithviraj is now keen on shifting base to Mumbai.

Although his maiden venture didn’t display his acting prowess, he’s hoping his next movie ‘Aurangzeb’, under the Yash Raj banner, will fill in the gaps.

And, that’s not all.

We hear, the actor has been picked to team up with Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s next ‘Happy New Year’.

Prithviraj confirmed to the Indian media that he had met Farah in connection with the movie.

"I had an informal meeting with Farah. She told me the premise of the film she is doing. And I have not read the script yet, no concrete offer has been made to me."

The movie about a male gang who takes part in a dance contest has been in the news over its female lead.

While the movie offers are coming his way, the actor claims he is equally keen on turning director.

"Direction is definitely on the cards. I definitely want to make my own film in Hindi one day and that's my dream," he told IANS.

Prithviraj has already turned producer for Southern movies, but he is quite skeptical about doing it in Bollywood.

"With production, I just realised that things work very differently here (Bollywood). It is not like in South. It's a new ball game. Until I am sure that I have authentic knowledge about how to put things together for a project, I don't think I should venture into production.

"I had written a few things long back. I don't know when it will happen, but let's see. I am hoping it happens soon.”

The actor is also keen on shifting base to Mumbai and is busy hunting for a house.

"We have been searching for the house for the longest time. I have realised that it's easier to find a house on Mars or somewhere else, but very tough here. Hunt is still on," the 30-year-old said.
