Your ultimate guide to F1 Abu Dhabi entertainment weekend

With the line-up of international artistes descending onto UAE over the next few days, you may be excused for being overwhelmed with the spate of names you need to keep up with.

As the chequered flag comes down for the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix event, Emirates 24|7 tries to simplify the entertainment juggernaut:

After-race concerts

November 20-22

Who: Pharrell Williams, Armin Van Buuren, The Who, Tamer Hosny, Carole Samaha and Mohammed Assaf

Where: Du Arena, Yas Island

The After-Race Concerts will be the ultimate party central post the day’s races, with the Yasalam celebrations geting the party started will be four of the Arab world’s most prominent musical superstars kicking off the first gig on November 20.

Egyptian movie star and celebrity singer, Tamer Hosny, will take to the stage, along with Carole Samaha, Emirati singer Fayez Alsaeed and Mohammed Assaf of ‘Arab Idol’ fame from Palestine.

On Friday, November 21, Dutch DJ sensation and producer Armin Van Buuren will present a specially created and customised show exclusively for Yasalam and will be supported by UAE-based group Hollaphonic for this ultimate dance party.

On Saturday, November 22, the music industry’s current hottest property, Pharrell Williams, will light up the venue with his world famous stage persona and raw talent.

Then, bringing the race season, Abu Dhabi race weekend and the Yasalam Festival to a celebrated and powerful close on Sunday, November 23, one of rock’s legendary and defining bands of all time, The Who, will take to the du Arena stage.

Your F1 tickets will allow you free entry to the after-race concerts. 

Beats on the Beach

November 20-22

Who: Rita Ora, Jason Derulo, Juicy J, Charice, Ragheb Alama, Hard Kaur and more

Where: Abu Dhabi Corniche

From Thursday November 20 to Saturday November 22 the Live at the Corniche celebrations will be taken to a new high as Beats on the Beach delivers a killer line-up that will perform live at the Abu Dhabi.

Leading the way will be US R&B hit-machine Jason Derulo, who will be joined by one of music’s most in-demand artists, Rita Ora, one of the hip hop world’s most established performers, Juicy J, and rising star singer-songwriter Tinashe.

However, the entertainment isn’t limited to international acts alone, as UAE star Ruwaida Mahrooqi, regional Arabic performers Ragheb Alama, Chada Hassoun, Sabine and Two Tone, will also take to the stage, alongside Filipino sensation Charice and Bollywood crowd-puller Hard Kaur.

The extensive line-up is bolstered further by some of the best UAE-based acts, hand-picked for their talents – Juliana Down, The Boxtones, Nikotin, Kicksound and Jae Franklin.

Entry is free. 

Project Etoiles

November 21-23

Who: Conor Maynard, Miguel, Rita Ora, Tinashe

Where: Yas Island

This will be a three-night epic clubbing experience with a star filled line-up performing live and celebrating the end of the F1 season on Yas Island.

On November 21, English singer-songwriter and actor Conor Maynard will step into the spotlight on his big birthday; partying alongside will be Miguel and Sidney Samson.

The following night, Rita Ora and Tinashe promise to bring the house down, while Sunday’s winner’s party is still a tad hush-hush.

Tickets for the night set you back Dh350 for General Admission; table tickets are Dh500 (plus minimum spend per table). 

VIP Room Pop-up Party

November 21-23

Who: Kim Kardashian, Future and French Montana

Where: Radisson Blu Hotel, Abu Dhabi

Yes, she did not ‘Break The Internet’ but Kim Kardashian is jetting back into the UAE to light up the clubbing scene.

Before she heads down to Toko in Dubai for her VIP dinner and her perfume launch next week, the Kardashian star will pout for the cameras at the VIP Room Pop-up Party, which will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Abu Dhabi.

While Kim is expected to enter on November 23 with VIP Room founder Jean-Roch, US rappers Future and French Montana are set to take to the stage on November 21 and 22, respectively.

We are told a few more surprise guests may be in store. Considering Tyrese is in town and headed to Abu Dhabi, who knows where he may end up at. 

The Podium Lounge

November 20-23

Who: Rudimental, Marko Smokingroove, Patrick Oliver, Sister Bliss, Dirty Vegas

Where: Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi Hotel

As the official venue for the after race parties, The Podium Lounge expects to host the ultimate A-list party for the racing community and UAE’s party elite that will be attended by F1 drivers, celebrities, musicians and more.

On November 20, Smokingroove will be joined with Patrick Oliver, famed for his two-year residency at Pangaea ultra-lounge, Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

The following two days will see Sister Bliss and Dirty Vegas, respectively.

While headlining the four-night affair will be Rudimental DJ that makes its return to the UAE. 

O1NE

November 21-23

Who: Jason Derulo, Armin Van Buuren, T-Pain, Solomun

Where: Yas Island

Needless to say, after partying hard at their respective concerts, artistes Jason Derulo, along with Armin Van Buuren, will be found here as they take to the stage on November 20 and 21, respectively.

Meanwhile, super rapper T-Pain will have the spotlight on November 22, followed by Solomun on November 23

Amber Lounge

November 22 and 23

Who: Estelle

Where: Yas Marina

The Grammy-wining ‘American Boy’ singer is back in the UAE and will spin around in the spotlight for a two-night gig, on November 22 and 23 at the Amber Lounge.

Estelle has just released her new album, ‘True Romance’, so certainly some tracks from her fourth studio album will not be amiss in her performance.
