Mawaqif paid parking timings will be reduced during the Holy Month of Ramadan, announced the Department of Transport Abu Dhabi (DoT).

There will be two free-parking periods throughout the day; one period lasting from 4 PM to 10.30 PM, and the second period lasting from 2.30 AM to 9 AM.

“The move comes as part of DoT’s strategy to provide effective car parking solutions to the public in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with the aim of facilitating their parking and travel needs during the Holy Month,” DoT announced on its website.

Parking is free on Fridays and on public holidays in the capital.

Fines for illegal parking will continue as a 24/7 measure, also throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, it warned.
