India's version of 'Swiss Army Knife'

It is being dubbed a ‘mini truck’ in the avatar of a bike. Indian automobile giant Hero recently unveiled the RNT – what it claims is the world’s first “two-wheeled drive” for a motorbike.

The rear wheel of the bike is powered by the 150cc turbocharged direct injection diesel engine.The front is powered by an electric motor.

Climbing a hill or desert duning will no more be restricted to quad bikes alone.

Pawan Munjal, Managing Director& Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd announcing the RNT along with four other models including a 250CC sports bike said, “This is indeed yet another example of the India Story - the successful pursuit of our engineers to scale new technology frontiers on their own and leverage the best of technologies available around the world to make superior products which will cater to different geographies around the globe.

“And still, what we are showcasing is just a glimpse of the range of products that we are developing. There’s more to come - a slew of products, including new concepts.”

Camping becomes easier as the bike’s engine can be converted into an electric generator to power up other devices.

Features

The headlight is removable and can be used as a flashlight.

The bike cab enough storage both in front and on either side of the rear wheel.

The rear seat is long enough to accommodate more than one passenger.

According to the company, the wide flat loading surfaces with strap bars, as well as multi-use folding side racks, a large comfortable seat and spacious footboards are the looks never seen on a motorcycle before. Well, at least not in India.
