Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) has called upon parents to register their children at Abu Dhabi schools before the end of the registration period on April 28.

Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Adec's Executive Director of School Operations, said that early registration will ensure that students get seats in nearby schools before the beginning of the new school year.

"On the other hand, timely registration also helps schools meet the capacity needs and enables ADEC to identify and provide required teachers, textbooks, stationary and other school needs at appropriate time in accordance with the new school year plan. This is essential for a successful school year," he added.

"It is most important that parents register their children before deadline as this would ensure providing their children with an appropriate learning environment, free of obstacles or uncertainty", Al Dhaheri pointed out.

A media campaign has been launched by Adec to encourage and remind parents to abide by registration timeline in order to ensure schools are not overwhelmed with unexpected challenges at the beginning of the new school year.

Registration period for KG-G12 national students has been scheduled from March 6 to April 28 and from April 17-28 for primary and secondary expatriate students.
