Dubai Kite Festival to be held today, over 10,000 people expected to turn up

Third International Kite Festival will be held today, January 17, at Dubai Outlet Mall on Dubai-Al Ain highway.

The festival is an endeavour bringing different cultures together over an annual gathering of kite lovers and a celebration of colours. The kite festival will expose some of the best kite flyers from around the world.

Since the beginning, the kite festival in Dubai has gathered a lot of attention by the small members in any family.

The festival which will start at 10 am will go on till 5 pm.

Family tickets – a couple and two kids below 12 years – have been priced at Dh80 and Dh50 will be charged for couple only.

There will also be live music by DJ Vimal & Alex Light.

The Second International Kite Festival was held on January 18, 2013, which saw participation of some of the best kite flyers from around the world with teams flying in from India – Kerala and Mangalore, Sri Lanka and Kuwait.

Kites of all sizes, shapes and colours were displayed at the Dubai Outlet Mall on Dubai-Alain Road on the Friday, 18th January 2013, and over 10,000 visitors walked in from 9am onwards. Massive theme-based kites donned blue skies with some even made up to look like birds and animals.

Last year tickets were priced at Dh80 for family, Dh50 for couples and Dh30 per person.
