Meydan Racecourse was shining brighter than ever with Dubai glitterati congregating to witness the richest horse race in the world

Dubai World Cup at Meydan combines unparalleled racing action and a night of fashion extravaganza.

The most anticipated event in Dubai's sporting and social calendar - it gives the fashionsitas a perfect opportunity to dress their best.

Few events can compete with the scenery and excitement that the Dubai Racing Club offers at the Meydan Racecourse.

The racing apart, the Dubai World Cup is now a marquee event for fashionistas, with off-track prizes competed for with as much enthusiasm and style as the horses running for glory at Meydan.

COMPETITION:

Jaguar is once again playing host to the highly anticipated fashion competition.

Offering additional categories such as Best Dressed Lady and Man, Best Dressed Couple, Best Hat, the Most Creative Hat and Longines Most Elegant Lady, this competition is sure to bring out the most stylish ladies and gents in the United Arab Emirates.

The judging panel brings expert from Fashion and Media industry like Italian Australian fashion designer Dom Bagnato will join Tala Samman of My Fash Diary, stylist and fashion blogger Alanoud Badr and Marketing Manager Nicola Gibson representing title sponsor, Jaguar.

BEST DRESSED LADY:

The Jaguar Style Stakes arena was bustling with Dubai’s impeccably dressed men and women, all hoping to impress the judging panel and claim the best dressed accolade.

Picked from hundreds of entrants, Mary Behan was named the overall Jaguar Style Stakes winner as Best Dressed Lady.

Working at Cleveland clinic Abu Dhabi, Mary one day went to a mall and found the lovely dress but she didn’t expect to win.

“I am freaking out, I never expected winning this among so many beautifully dressed women. I am sure the whole of Ireland will get to know about this win," says  Mary.

In a blue floral skirt and crop top Mary Behan kept her look minimalist.

The young lady gets to keep a Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé sports car for one year.

MOST ELEGANT LADY:

Ladies were out in force in an array of fascinating hats and bright dresses at Dubai World Cup at Meydan.

A milliner herself, Ana Pribylova from Australia bagged the Most Elegant Lady award.

Excited about her first win here in Dubai Ana says, “It’s so amazing, the atmosphere is electrifying and I am so overwhelmed.”

It took her two months to make her hat and she than carefully picked up her dress to compliment her headgear.

Ana will spend the next 10 days in Dubai visiting some of the most iconic structures. Dubai Mall Aquarium tops her list of ‘must visit’ spots in the emirates.

Relishing her maiden win Ana promises to be back next year.

Most Creative Hat

Bebe Leone’s eagle theme hat captured the flight of imagination of the judges at the Jaguar Style Stakes competition 2015.

She wiggled and jiggled on the ramp and added a feather in her cap (quite literally) to win the most creative hat category.

Birds of prey have always been part of the culture and heritage of the UAE and this was her way of expressing her love for Dubai.

While contemplating about the design, Bebe connected with her friend in London and after much deliberation they settled down with the eagle theme.

Her joy of winning this title was visible when she shook a leg on the stage after her name was announced.

The winner says, "It's been long I haven't won anything, so this feels good."

Best Hat

Russian lady Natalia Shustova has tasted success again after winning her second Jaguar Style Stake title.

Last year Natalia bagged the Best Couple award and this time she takes home the Best Hat title.

Based in Dubai, Natalia is a lawyer by profession and also an editor in a fashion magazine - Art of Living.

She says her profession gives her the opportunity to nail the style quotient and keep tab on what’s in what’s out.

She and her milliner Karen Hamilton discussed and decided to go for a classy look instead of the contemporary one she opted last year.

The Channel inspired hat was in monochrome colour that complimented her dress with pearl embellishments.

Best Dressed Man:

Best Dressed Man Marlon Weir is a dandy who believes in the details.

Winning the Jaguar Style Stakes for the second consecutive year, Marlon says his secret is, "In the detailing of his suit and the quality of the textile."

Marlon says, "The movie 'Great Gatsby' inspired me to create this costume and all the accessories you see are my own, I do not believe is borrowing. My hat is from Quiccno and is from the 1920s."

With his antics on the ramp this man is a showman. Based in Dubai, Marlon trusts his tailor Royal Fashion who helped him bag his second title.

His ensemble took a year to complete and he is already thinking of a hat-trick next year. With swag, dedication and determination Marlon might be just the man to do it.

BEST DRESSED COUPLE:

While visiting Dubai this UK couple hit a jackpot - David and Elizabeth Akroyd were adjudged the Best Dressed Couple at Jaguar Styles Stakes 2015, during the Dubai World Cup Meydan.

While David loves horses, Elizabeth is fashion conscious and Dubai World Cup turns out to be the best platform for their passion.

They tried their luck in 2014 but tasted success in 2015 in their Ted Baker ensemble.

Elizabeth went shopping and mixed-matched their entire look.

David has fallen in love with Dubai and the atmosphere here at Meydan on race day. He is keen on blocking his date in future for this annual extravagenza and come back to experience the hospitality.
