Kate Middleton stunned the audience in a recent outing to the gala at London Olympic Games.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted for a floor length gown with lace on it and instead of letting her hair down, she went for an elegant bun, reports Daily Mail.

The most striking part about the Jenny Packham's spring/summer 2012 collection dress was undoubtedly the back, where we can see tiny gems in the delicate lace across her back.

While the bun was a departure from her usual style, Kate opted for the same £450 Vamp sandals from Jimmy Choo that she wore earlier in the week –  and even appeared to be sporting the same crimson pedicure, says Daily Mail.

Recently, the 30-year-old royal, who is a newcomer on the coveted annual list, landed the fourth place in the Glamour magazine’s top 50 list and ranked higher than her sister Pippa Middleton, who is 47th, the Mirror reported.

The global media attention that has made her arguably the most famous woman in the world has prompted inevitable comparisons with her late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales.

She regards the comparison as “a compliment”, said a source, but is determined to do things her own way.
