Hotbrands International (HBI), a leading food services company in the Middle East, will be participating at Taste of Dubai for the fourth successive year, with its casual dining Chinese brand, Da Shi Dai making its debut at the region’s food, drink and music extravaganza that will be held at Dubai Media City from March 15-17.

Da Shi Dai is a restaurant distinguished for its delicate, light and original taste. It offers great quality Chinese cuisine in a casual and interactive environment. The menu is varied and served in a modern, contemporary small-eat format. This restaurant is renowned for its unique and wide variety of regional Chinese dishes, its variety of authentic Chinese soups and original desserts.

Food connoisseurs visiting Taste of Dubai will relish the modern yet authentic Chinese cuisine that will be served at Da Shi Dai.  HBI’s Corporate Chef Wai Hung Ho, who was instrumental in the development of the Da Shi Dai menu, will again be at the centre of culinary action at Taste of Dubai. Wai brings a wealth of experience to this annual event with influences from his native Hong Kong and then Singapore where he spent several years as head Chef at the Royal China Restaurant, Raffles Hotel.

Da Shi Dai at Taste of Dubai will offer a unique range of Chinese specialties including its signature Bang Bang Chicken, which is shredded chicken and cucumber salad served with traditional Chinese peanut sauce, Crispy Lemon Chicken, a popular dish that is served with a sweet and sour lemon sauce, Beef Brisket, a traditional hot dish that is served in a clay pot and Mango Soup, one of the most popular dessert dishes on the restaurant menu since its inception.

“Our participation in Taste of Dubai for the fourth consecutive year reflects our commitment to supporting this excellent concept that offers a wonderful culinary experience for food connoisseurs. We hope to entertain many food enthusiasts who visit our Da Shi Dai lounge with a lighter side of Chinese dining and give them a taste of modern day Chinese food, as well as the opportunity to experience some signature items from the restaurant’s kitchen”, said Marek Maitland-Walker, Head of Marketing at Hotbrands International.

The Da Shi Dai restaurant, which is located in Murjan Tower, Jumeirah Beach Residence, was opened in 2008, and ever since has become a big hit with residents and tourists. The Da Shi Dai brand is one of three casual dining restaurant concepts that have been developed by HBI.  It caters especially to customers from nearby Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, Dubai Internet City, as well as to the numerous residential neighbourhoods.

HBI, which was founded in May 1992 in the UAE,  develops, operates and markets its own unique range of restaurant concepts offering Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine under 6 quick service (QSR) brands - Shamiana, Magic Wok, Sugoi!, Santino’s, Sala Thai and Fillings and 3 casual dining (CDR) brands - Haru, Da Shi Dai and Pane Caldo. Starting from humble beginnings with a single food court outlet in Dubai, HBI today operates over 50 restaurants across the GCC region, and in India.

Hotbrands International and its executives are also members of the International Council of Shopping Centres, the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres, the Franchising Association of India and the Canadian Business Council of Dubai. With its headquarters in Dubai, HBI also has offices in the United States, Canada and India.
