The Yasalam action has kicked off in Abu Dhabi as the F1 Grand Prix weekend races closer to the finish line for its grand finale next weekend.

The capital has put on its party hat, rolling out the red carpet for a star-studded set of free concerts that include the likes of Rita Ora, Jason Derulo, Ragheb Alama and many more from November 20-22.

Organised by Flash Entertainment, the Live on the Corniche programme kicks off on the West Plaza and Lagoon Beach.

The West Plaza is the new location to house the F1 FanZone, open until November 23, which will allow fans and spectators to feel the rush of the race with thrills and spills for motorsport enthusiasts of all ages.

Open Thursday-Friday from 4pm to midnight and Saturday to Wednesday from 5pm-11pm, there’s plenty to keep the family entertained at the world’s largest and most diverse race fan experience.

New to the Get Driver Fit will be the first-ever Get Driver Fit Challenge Obstacle Course, which will not only be the grand finale of the community-wide 10-week fitness programme, but also give visitors an opportunity to try their skills manoeuvring through sets of 17 challenging obstacles.

The obstacle course will be open to all fitness levels over the age of 14 years until the November 15 from 5pm to 11pm and offer prizes for participants.

The Urban Art Zone will join the Corniche activities with a new level of creativity, which will also run until November 23, allowing the public to watch art come to life as an old shipping container and art car are transformed into live graffiti art, bringing the industrial heritage of Abu Dhabi into the creative world of Yasalam 2014.

As part of Yasalam’s continued community outreach, the zone will also teach about upcycling and refurbishing furniture to help give back to the under-privileged in the community.

Featuring an eclectic mix of music for every taste across the Capital, fan-favourite Volkswagen presents Beats on the Beach returns with a line-up of local, regional and global talent from Thursday, November 20 until Saturday, November 22. Gates open at 6.30pm.
