According to Abu Dhabi Health Authority (Haad) there are four body weight ranges and you can simple ascertain where you stand with a simple calculation called Body Mass Index (BMI).

It’s is calculated by measuring height and weight for both males and females aged 20 years and above.

Mostly, this simple math is used to know if you are overweight, but also you can use it to know if you are underweight or you’re in a normal range.

1 Underweight

People should talk to a doctor to check if that weight rate to know what is the cause of it, and also to know if the person needs to put more weight in.

2  Normal weight

People in this category should learn how to keep their normal weight, and keeping yourself healthy reduces the risks of having diseases associated with overweight and obesity.

3 Overweight

People in this category are in a high risk of having chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

Try to avoid gaining additional weight. If you are overweight with other risk factors (such as high LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, or high blood pressure), you should try to lose weight.

Even a small weight loss (just 10% of your current weight) may help lower the risk of disease.

Talk with your healthcare provider to determine appropriate ways to lose weight.

4 Obese

You are at a much higher risk of getting the all the chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

Try to avoid gaining additional weight, and speak with your doctor to help you find the easiest way to cut down your weight which might help you reduce the huge potential of getting diseases.

There are simple general tips that all can follow to get healthier better body, according to Haad.

1-Get at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day.

2-Eat less harmful fats

3-Eat a variety of fruits & vegetables everyday

4-Drink water
